OpenAI is testing SearchGPT, a new AI-powered search feature that promises to give you fast and accurate answers with clear, relevant sources.
A Better Way to Search: SearchGPT combines AI with real-time web information to make finding answers quicker and easier. Instead of multiple search attempts, you get direct responses with links to sources.
Conversational and Contextual: You can ask follow-up questions like you’re chatting with a person. The shared context builds with each query, making the search experience more intuitive.
Supporting Publishers and Creators: OpenAI is partnering with publishers to highlight high-quality content. This ensures you get reliable information while helping publishers reach more readers.
Future Improvements: OpenAI plans to enhance SearchGPT with features like local information and commerce, and eventually integrate the best aspects into ChatGPT.
OpenAI aims to build this technology with respect for publishers and their content.
SearchGPT is currently available to a small group for feedback. If you want to try it out, you can sign up for the waitlist.
🧠 Mark Zuckerberg on Llama 3.1, Open Source, AI Agents, and More
Mark Zuckerberg recently talked about Meta’s newest AI release, Llama 3.1. Here’s what it means for you:
Easier Access to Advanced AI: Meta’s Llama 3.1 includes a super advanced AI model that’s now open for everyone. This means businesses and individuals can use and customise it to better fit their needs without the high costs of closed models.
Why Open Source Matters: Zuckerberg compared open-source AI to Linux, which transformed software by making it free and customisable. Open-source AI aims to do the same, making advanced technology accessible and secure for everyone.
Practical Uses: With Llama 3.1, you can create your own AI assistants tailored to specific tasks. Imagine a personal assistant that helps with customer support, or a creative partner that helps brainstorm ideas.
Support for Developers: Meta is partnering with other companies to provide tools and resources, making it easier for developers to create and fine-tune their own AI models. This means more innovative AI applications for users like you.
Personal AI Assistants: Zuckerberg envisions a future where every small business and creator can have their own AI assistants. These AI agents can handle customer interactions, manage schedules, and even engage with fans, making daily tasks more efficient.
🔍 Introducing Bing Generative Search
Image: Bing Blog
Bing is rolling out a new generative search experience, blending AI with traditional search results to give you more dynamic answers.
What’s new:
AI-Enhanced Queries: Searching for something like "What is a spaghetti western?" now brings up an easy-to-read summary with links and sources for more info.
Integrated Results: You’ll still see regular search results along with AI-enhanced insights for a fuller picture.
Smart Search: Bing’s new system understands your questions better, reviews tons of sources, and provides a fresh, AI-driven layout.
Feedback Welcome: This feature is currently available to a few users. Bing is collecting feedback to make it even better. Share your thoughts using the feedback icons on the search results page.
