Google is bringing search and Gemini straight onto Windows desktops, Apple just rolled out live translation and smarter shortcuts, Microsoft Copilot is now rolling into Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and Meta’s AI glasses just doubled their battery life.

Google Brings Search + Gemini to Windows App (Labs)

Google is testing a new Google app for Windows in Labs, designed to make search and Gemini AI easier to use on desktop. Instead of opening a browser, you can now:
Search instantly from a native app.
Chat with Gemini alongside your work.
Get AI answers, summaries, and suggestions without switching tabs.
It’s an early experiment, but it shows Google’s push to move beyond the browser and make Gemini a desktop companion for Windows users.

New Apple Intelligence Features Land Across iPhone, iPad, Mac & Watch

Apple rolled out a wave of Apple Intelligence updates across iOS/iPadOS/macOS/watchOS/visionOS 26. Highlights you can use today:
Live Translation: Translate calls, FaceTime, in-person chats (with AirPods Pro/4), and Messages — all with on-device privacy.
Visual Intelligence: Point at what’s on screen to search similar items, summarize/translate text, or one-tap add events to Calendar.
Genmoji & Image Playground upgrades: Remix styles, tweak expressions/attributes, and explore new creative looks.
Workout Buddy: Real-time, spoken coaching based on your fitness data (Apple Watch + supported iPhone).
Smarter Shortcuts: Tap Apple Intelligence directly for document summaries, PDF data pulls → spreadsheet rows, and more.
Third-party apps: Developers can use Apple’s on-device model for private, offline features.
Availability: Features are rolling out now on Apple Intelligence-enabled devices (beta languages include EN/FR/DE/IT/PT-BR/ES/zh-CN/JA/KO), with more languages coming soon. Some capabilities vary by region/device.

Microsoft is rolling out Copilot Chat across Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and OneNote — giving everyone a unified AI assistant inside the apps you already use every day.
Ask questions and get context-aware answers without leaving your file.
Draft docs, analyze spreadsheets, brainstorm slides, or reply to emails faster.
Pull in recent or relevant files with a simple “/” command, no uploads needed.
Upload multiple images, format longer prompts, and even generate visuals directly in chat.
Free for Microsoft 365 users, with advanced agents and GPT-5 priority for licensed Copilot subscribers.
