Adam here! We’re looking into some of the latest updates in AI. OpenAI has launched GPT-4o, bringing advanced features to free users, while Google introduced their Gemini technology across various products at I/O 2024.

Introducing GPT-4o and New Tools for Free Users
OpenAI has launched GPT-4o, their newest model, bringing GPT-4-level intelligence that's faster and more capable. Now, even free users can access advanced features like:
Enhanced text, voice, and vision capabilities
Data analysis and chart creation
Image discussions
File uploads for summarization, writing, or analysis
Access to GPTs and the GPT Store
Free users will have message limits with GPT-4o and will switch to GPT-3.5 after reaching the limit.
Additionally, OpenAI has introduced a new ChatGPT desktop app for macOS, with a Windows version coming soon. The app integrates seamlessly with your workflow, allowing easy access to ChatGPT with a simple keyboard shortcut.

Google I/O 2024 Highlights
At Google I/O 2024, Google showcased their latest AI advancements, focusing on the Gemini technology now integrated into all Google products used by over two billion people.
Key Announcements:
AI and Gemini: Introduced Gemini 1.5 Pro with up to 2 million tokens, the lightweight Gemini 1.5 Flash, and Gemini models integrated across Google Search, Photos, Workspace, and Android.
AI in Google Products: Enhanced Google Search with AI Overviews, advanced memory searches in Google Photos, and new summarizing and workflow features in Workspace.
AI Assistants: Launched the Gemini App with voice interaction and personal experts called "Gems," AI agents for task assistance, and advanced planning in Gemini Advanced.

Hardware Innovations: Announced new Trillium TPUs with significant performance improvements, Nvidia Blackwell GPUs for AI workloads, and expanded liquid cooling for AI infrastructure.
Responsible AI and Learning: Focused on AI safety with Red Teaming, SynthID watermarking for AI content, a Responsible Generative AI Toolkit, LearnLM models for personalized learning, and new Classroom Tools.
Android Innovations: Enhanced Android with Circle to Search, the on-device Gemini Nano model, improved TalkBack accessibility, and AI-driven fraud protection.
Apple Introduces M4 Chip for iPad Pro

Apple has announced the M4 chip, bringing significant performance improvements to the new iPad Pro. Built using second-generation 3-nanometer technology, the M4 SoC focuses on power efficiency and supports the iPad Pro's slim design.
Key Features of M4:
New CPU & GPU: Up to 10-core CPU and 10-core GPU with hardware-accelerated ray tracing and Dynamic Caching.
Neural Engine: Capable of up to 38 trillion operations per second, making it the fastest AI processor in any device.
Ultra Retina XDR Display: Precise color accuracy and brightness uniformity driven by a new display engine.
Power Efficiency: Provides the same performance as M2 using half the power, and up to four times the performance in pro rendering.
