Weekly Round Up | Veo 3.1 adds audio & edits, Claude Haiku 4.5 speed, NotebookLM visuals, Gemini Enterprise

Google brings sound + precision to Flow, Anthropic ships a faster/cheaper coder, NotebookLM turns notes into styled videos, and Google Cloud unveils a new front door for workplace AI.

Adam here! This week feels very hands-on: video tools picked up real sound and timeline control, “small” models got shockingly fast (and cheap), study notes turned into illustrated explainers, and Google pitched a true front door for workplace AI.

If you’re making content, running a team, or just learning faster, there’s something you can try today: Veo 3.1 for richer clips, Haiku 4.5 for snappy assistants and coding, NotebookLM for visual summaries, and Gemini Enterprise for connecting agents to the tools you already use

AI VIDEO

Google’s Veo 3.1 Brings Audio and Precision Editing to Flow

Google just rolled out Veo 3.1, the newest version of its AI video model, along with a major update to Flow, its AI filmmaking tool.

  • 🎧 Audio for everything. You can now add rich, generated audio to all Flow features: from Ingredients to Video and Frames to Video to Extend, bringing music and ambient sound to your clips.

  • 🧩 Edit with precision. Insert or remove objects directly inside Flow. The AI automatically rebuilds lighting and shadows for seamless results.

  • 🎥 Longer, cinematic scenes. “Extend” now lets you create continuous shots that can stretch up to a minute, keeping the action flowing.

  • 🪄 Stronger realism. Veo 3.1 improves textures, motion, and visual consistency. All powered by Google’s latest Gemini models.

Veo 3.1 is also available via the Gemini API, Vertex AI, and the Gemini app, giving creators and developers new ways to produce cinematic videos straight from prompts.

AI PERFORMANCE

Claude Haiku 4.5: Fast, Smart, and Affordable

Anthropic just released Claude Haiku 4.5, a small but mighty upgrade that brings near-frontier performance at a fraction of the cost.

  • Twice as fast, one-third the price. Haiku 4.5 matches the coding power of Claude Sonnet 4 while being over 2× faster and 70% cheaper.

  • 🧠 Smarter multitasking. Claude Sonnet 4.5 can now orchestrate multiple Haiku 4.5 models to tackle complex, multi-step problems in parallel.

  • 🧩 Built for everyday tools. It powers apps like Claude for Chrome and Claude Code. Making assistants, customer support, and pair-programming smoother and more responsive.

  • 🛡️ Safer by design. Haiku 4.5 passed Anthropic’s alignment tests with the lowest rate of risky behaviours among its peers.

Haiku 4.5 delivers high-end AI performance that’s fast enough for real-time tasks and affordable enough for daily use.

AI LEARNING

NotebookLM Video Overviews Now Powered by Nano Banana

Google just gave NotebookLM’s Video Overviews a serious glow-up. The tool that turns dense notes and documents into narrated explainer videos now uses Gemini’s Nano Banana image model for visuals and it looks incredible.

  • 🎨 Six new visual styles: Choose from Watercolor, Papercraft, Anime, Whiteboard, Retro Print, or Heritage to match your topic.

  • 🧠 Smarter context: Nano Banana generates illustrations based on your uploaded sources, making your summaries easier to follow and remember.

  • Two video types:

    • Explainer – a full structured breakdown of your document.

    • Brief – a bite-sized video for quick takeaways.

  • ✏️ Custom prompts: Highlight sections to focus on like “only the cost analysis” or “show steps in the recipe.”

NotebookLM continues to blur the line between reading and watching making learning faster, more visual, and surprisingly fun.

AI AT WORK

Google launches Gemini Enterprise": the “front door” for workplace AI

Image: Google Cloud Blog

Google just introduced Gemini Enterprise, an all-in-one AI platform that brings together agents, data, and automation across your entire business from Workspace to Salesforce and SAP.

It’s Google’s biggest move yet to turn AI into a workplace operating system.

  • 💬 Unified AI chat interface: the new entry point for every employee to access company data and automate workflows.

  • ⚙️ No-code workbench: anyone can build custom AI agents or use pre-built ones for research, analysis, and data insights.

  • 🔒 Secure integrations: connects to your company’s tools (Workspace, Microsoft 365, Salesforce, SAP) under a single governance layer.

  • 🤖 Multi-modal agents: built-in capabilities for text, image, video, and voice (like Google Vids and Meet’s real-time translation).

  • 📊 Data Science Agent: a new assistant for automating data exploration and model training.

Companies like Klarna, Mercedes, and Swarovski are already using Gemini Enterprise to create personalized content, customer experiences, and smarter workflows.

This is Google’s clearest answer to Microsoft 365 Copilot but with deeper agent orchestration and cross-tool automation.
